Gemini chatbot: plans, prices and how to use it on WhatsApp
Gemini is Google's AI chatbot, formerly called Bard. It is free with a Google Account; in the US, Google AI Plus costs $4.99 a month, Google AI Pro $19.99 and Google AI Ultra from $99.99, according to Google's US subscriptions page on 5 October 2026.
Prices change by country: the same page opened from Brazil showed reais. Gemini can send WhatsApp messages from your Android phone, but it does not answer your business number for you.

Gemini API price
On Google's Gemini API pricing page on 5 October 2026, Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview cost $2.00 per million input tokens and $12.00 per million output tokens, for prompts up to 200,000 tokens.
Can Gemini answer my business WhatsApp?
Not on its own. Google's help center says the Gemini Android app can make calls and send messages with WhatsApp, from your phone, when you ask it. It does not sit on your business number answering customers.
Since 15 January 2026, Meta's terms for the WhatsApp Business Platform prohibit general-purpose AI assistants from using it when the AI itself is the product. AI that serves a business's own customers, answering about its own services, prices and bookings, is allowed. In practice: you will not get the public chatbot to answer your business number, but you can have an AI agent that knows your business answer it.

Can Gemini reply to WhatsApp messages for my business?
No. The Android app can send WhatsApp messages for you when you ask. Answering customers on a business number takes a WhatsApp AI agent.
Is it allowed to use AI on a WhatsApp Business number?
Yes, when the AI serves your own customers. Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform terms (section 4.7) prohibit general-purpose AI assistants as the main product since 15 January 2026, and allow AI that is part of a business's own service.
