Nobody answers WhatsApp from under a car. The agent books the service, sends the quote in writing and, with the rules you turn on in the CRM, lets the customer know when the car is ready and calls them back when service is due.

What is the best WhatsApp chatbot for auto repair shops in Brazil?

The best WhatsApp chatbot for auto repair shops in Brazil is the one that answers on the number the shop already uses, with business rules written by you. An AI WhatsApp agent for auto repair shops is CertuAI's automatic attendant, connected to the number the shop already uses. It books services and oil changes for the time each job takes, sends the quote in writing and, with the rules you create in the CRM, lets the customer know when the car is ready and calls the customer back for the next maintenance.

What is the best WhatsApp chatbot for an auto repair shop in Brazil?

The best one books for the right time of each job, sends the quote in writing, does not promise a deadline the mechanic has not confirmed, and lets your team take over the conversation; CertuAI does all four.

These four things separate an attendant that helps the shop from a robot that creates problems at the counter. Here is how each one works in CertuAI:

  • Books for the length of the job. When the AI books a time, it notes how long the job takes, based on what you wrote in the Brain, from 15 minutes up to 8 hours. A 5-hour job booked at 8 am also takes up 9, 10, and 11 am, and the AI does not book another car on top of it. By default it does not lock in the time on its own: it tells the customer it will confirm, and the request shows up for you to approve. If you prefer, you turn on direct booking.
  • Written quote. Each quote request becomes a card in the CRM with the car, license plate, and service, in the stages Quote, Approved, In service, Ready, Delivered, and Not approved. The AI does not move the card to lost just because the customer went quiet or asked for time to think.
  • Does not promise a deadline. The ready-made Brain for auto repair shops already comes with the rule written: never promise a delivery date the mechanic has not confirmed. And the AI only answers with what is registered; for what is missing, it says it will confirm.
  • Your team takes over whenever they want. If someone at the shop replies from the company phone, the AI stops talking in that conversation. To hand it back, just send #bot. If no one hands it back, it comes back on its own after 1 hour, and you choose that time, from never up to 7 days.

Can the shop's chatbot promise a deadline the shop does not meet?

Not if you wrote the rule: the shop's ready-made Brain says to say “as soon as the mechanic evaluates it, I'll give you the exact timeline” and the AI only answers with what is registered.

The rule appears in two entries of the ready-made Brain. In the quote entry, the sentence is “as soon as the mechanic evaluates it, I'll send you the exact quote here.” In the entry about what the attendant never does, it applies to the car's delivery date. Both already come written: you do not need to remember to add them.

Underneath the Brain there is a second lock, which applies to every CertuAI account: the AI uses only the knowledge of your business and, when something is not there, says it will confirm instead of making up a price, deadline, stock level, or rule. The most common error does not come from the AI, it comes from the text. If you write in the Brain “service is ready the same day,” it will repeat that to everyone, including the day the part is late. Write the timeline the way a mechanic talks: “depends on the evaluation.” See what to do if this has already happened: the agent promises a deadline I can't meet.

The customer asks "is my car ready yet?": what does the AI answer?

It does not make things up: under the ready-made Brain's rule, there are only two answers, the status that is on record or “I'll confirm with the mechanic and get back to you.”

Saying “it's almost ready” without knowing is the most expensive mistake in auto shop customer service. The customer leaves home, arrives, and the car is open on the lift. That is why the “Service status” entry tells the AI never to guess.

The way that works on its own is the opposite: instead of waiting for the customer to ask, you notify them. In the CRM, the car moves through the stages Quote, Approved, In service, Ready, and Delivered. You create a stage rule: when the card enters Ready, a message goes out to the customer. It can be a text of your own (“Your car is ready, you can pick it up until 6 pm”) or the AI writes it with the goal you gave, such as arranging the pickup time. This rule comes turned off; a new account sends nothing on its own until you create it.

If you want the status question to go straight to a person, write that in the field for when to hand off to a person. Then the AI tells the customer it will call someone, stops answering in that conversation, and you get the notice on WhatsApp and by email.

Does the AI give quotes on WhatsApp?

It gives a fixed price only for what you put in your price list, such as an oil change with a filter; for a noise, a dashboard light, or a leak, it notes the symptom and books the assessment, without guessing a price.

You register the services with prices in the Brain. The price can be a number, “starting at,” or “on request,” and the AI repeats exactly what is written. When it needs to add up items, it does not do the math in its head: it uses a calculator in the system and repeats the number it returns.

For everything else, there is the “Diagnosis by message is forbidden” entry. The same noise can be a cheap part or an expensive one, and guessing by message makes the customer arrive expecting the wrong price. The AI notes the symptom in the customer's own words (“clicking in the front when I go over a pothole”), because that helps the mechanic more than a technical name, and offers two times for the assessment.

The customer can send an audio of the noise or a photo of the dashboard light. The AI listens to the audio and turns it into text, and reads what appears in the photo, such as the license plate, model, or the warning on the screen. It uses this to note the case, not to say what is wrong with the car.

The customer got the quote and disappeared: does the AI contact them again?

It comes back: by default, the AI sends a message 24 hours after the silence and another 24 hours after that, and you can change the wait (from 1 hour to 30 days) and the number of attempts (from none to 10).

This follow-up only goes out when the last message was from the AI, that is, when the customer is the one who owes a reply. On Meta's official WhatsApp, the first one goes out within 20 hours, to fit within the 24-hour window in which the business can write freely.

It stops on its own in four cases: when the customer replies; when they say goodbye (“thanks,” “cheers,” “that was all”); when they say they will come back (“I'll think about it,” “I'll let you know”); and when you yourself move their card in the CRM. If the customer writes again after that, the follow-up takes effect again. And an attempt that is more than 24 hours late, such as one on a Saturday with the shop closed, does not go out at the wrong time.

What the AI writes in each follow-up follows the “Quote follow-up cadence” entry of the ready-made Brain: each message brings something new, such as an open time on the calendar, and never just “so, did you think about it?” If the customer says they had it done elsewhere, the entry says to thank them and not follow up anymore. Also see: I send the quote and the customer disappears.

Does the AI call the customer when an oil change or service is due?

It does, if you create the rule: a set number of days after the completed job, or the mileage field above a number; with no rule, nothing goes out on its own.

  • Rule by days. You choose how many days after the last completed job the message goes out, for example 180. A car counts as completed when it reaches Delivered in the CRM. The message goes out once for each completed job.
  • Rule by mileage. The shop's card comes with vehicle, license plate, service, and delivery date. You create mileage as a number field (the account accepts up to 10 fields of your own) and set the rule “above so many kilometers.” It goes out once per car. Note: mileage does not go up on its own on the card; it only changes when someone enters it. To remind about an oil change without depending on that, the rule by days is the one that runs on its own.
  • After the service. You can also send a message when the booked time on the calendar ends, only for one type of service, such as asking whether everything is fine with the car.
  • Who receives it. Only a customer who has already talked to the shop on WhatsApp. A customer imported from a spreadsheet does not get a cold message by accident.
  • Outside the 24 hours. On official WhatsApp, after 24 hours without a conversation, Meta only lets an approved template message go out. You can point to a template of your own with the service reminder text; without one, CertuAI's standard follow-up goes out.

What does the AI do with each message that reaches the shop?

Messages from auto repair shop customers and what the CertuAI AI does
Client messageWhat the AI does
"My car is making a noise in the front, can I bring it in today?"Notes the symptom in the customer's own words and offers two times for the assessment
"How much is an oil change with a filter?"Gives the price you registered; with no price registered, says it will confirm
"Is my car ready yet?"Does not guess: answers what is on record or says it will confirm with the mechanic
"Do you take cards? Do you offer installments?"Answers with the payment methods you registered; terms outside them go to a person
"Can you give a discount?"Does not negotiate: hands the conversation to someone at the shop and you receive the notice
Two-minute audio message explaining the problemListens, turns it into text, and answers about what was said
Photo of the light on the dashboardReads what appears in the photo and books the assessment, without saying what is wrong with the car
"The service you did didn't fix it"Does not argue: hands off right away to the person in charge, without promising how soon they will call
Quote sent and no replyFollows up 24 hours later and once more the next day, and stops if the customer replies or says goodbye
Six months after the last oil changeOnly sends a message if you created the rule for days after the service

Where do I start setting up the shop's AI?

Start by copying the 22 entries of the ready-made Brain for auto repair shops: most of it already comes written (how to lead the first conversation, the quote flow, the ban on diagnosis by message, objections) and the rest are short blanks, such as services, address, hours, diagnostic fee, warranty, and payment methods.

What you have not filled in yet, the AI does not make up: it says it will confirm. If the shop also sells parts over the counter, see the agent for auto parts stores. For the question of which oil goes in each engine, read whether the agent answers which oil fits each engine, and for day-to-day counter work, the article AI for auto repair shops: quotes and WhatsApp customer service.

What changes at the shop with an AI agent?

What changes is who answers first: the message no longer waits for you and is answered right away. These are four everyday situations at the shop before and after the CertuAI agent.

Is an AI agent or manual customer service worth more for auto repair shops?

The agent wins at repetitive tasks, and the person keeps winning at what takes judgment. With manual service, someone at the shop has to stop what they are doing; with the CertuAI agent the answer goes out on its own and you step into the conversation whenever you want.

What does the WhatsApp agent do for auto repair shops?

It does the customer service that is yours today. You teach the business once in the Brain, CertuAI's knowledge base, and the agent answers clients your way, with your rules.

Service scheduling

Service, oil change, brakes, suspension: a booked time with the right duration for each job.

Car-ready notice

With the stage rule turned on, you move the car to Ready in the CRM and the customer receives the message you wrote.

Sending and approving the quote

Written quote in the conversation, approval recorded, no misunderstanding.

Maintenance reminder

Oil change, service, alignment: with the rule you create (days after the job, or mileage above a limit), the AI calls the customer back and offers a time.

Problem triage

Noise, dashboard light, leak: the agent collects the symptoms and the car arrives with the diagnosis already in motion.

What questions do clients send on WhatsApp?

They are always the same ones, and the agent answers each of them on its own. These everyday shop messages no longer depend on you having your phone in hand.

My car is making a noise in the front, can I bring it in today? How much does an oil change with filter cost? Is my car ready yet? Do you work on diesel cars? Do you take cards? Do you offer installments? How long does a full service take?

How does the agent start answering at the shop?

In three steps, on the same day. No installation, no code and no changing the number clients already know.

1

Teach your business

In one conversation, you explain catalog, prices, delivery, warranty, and rules, the way you would to a new employee.

2

Connect WhatsApp

Scan a QR code with the number your clients already know. Ready in minutes.

3

The agent answers

It answers right away, records each order and quote in the included CRM, and contacts again those who went quiet.

How much does an AI WhatsApp agent cost for auto repair shops?

The Start plan costs US$ 75 per month and already includes the WhatsApp agent, your business's Brain, the CRM, automatic follow-up and the AI assistants, which come with every paid plan. Pro costs US$ 120 per month and adds the landing page, the wallet and 10 people on the team instead of 5. No lock-in contract and no setup fee.

What needs to be ready before turning the agent on at the shop?

The agent answers what is written, and nothing beyond that. Have these points defined before you connect WhatsApp.

  • What the shop does and does not do
  • Price range for the most requested services
  • Whether quotes go out by phone or only with the car at the shop
  • Average turnaround by type of service
  • Whether you have a tow truck, loaner car, or pickup and drop-off

Decide three things: whether the agent gives a price range or only books an assessment, whether it promises a deadline, and who notifies when the car is ready.

The most common mistake: A deadline promised out of habit. The agent repeats "it'll be ready tomorrow" and the part takes three days. Read how to fix this.

Frequently asked questions from auto repair shops

Does the agent give repair quotes?

A fixed price only for what you put in your price list, like an oil change. For everything else, it collects the symptoms and books the diagnosis, without guessing a price.

A mechanic has no time to set up a system.

Setup is a conversation: you explain your services and rules the way you would to a new employee, and connect WhatsApp with a QR code.

How does the oil change reminder work?

You create a rule in the CRM: a set number of days after the completed job, or the mileage field above a number. The AI sends the message you wrote, once per completed job (or once per car, in the mileage rule). With no rule, nothing goes out on its own.

How much does it cost?

Does the agent send the quote and record the customer's approval?

It sends the quote in the conversation itself and the approval is recorded in writing right there. At delivery, instead of "I didn't authorize that," there is the message in which the customer authorized it, with the date, time, and what was written at the moment they said yes.
